On April 18, 2017 the international multimedia press center IIA ‘Russia Today’ welcomed a press conference on the new IT project of the DC industry. The Legrand Group, a global leader in integrated solutions for electrical and information infrastructure of buildings, and 3data, the domestic network of premium data centers, with the support of the partner company Mastertel announced the start of cooperation within the project on a new technological center.
The three-story mansion at Sadovaya-Kudrinskaya St., 19, that belongs to ‘3data’, is currentrly under construction and repairs, and by the end of the year it will become a host to a technological center, including a commercial mono-vendor data center, equipped with ‘Legrand’ equipment; a training center for training meetings, conferences, workshops and other events for ‘Legrand’ Group employees and partner companies; as well as administrative and office premises designed to serve DC clients, sales services and ‘Legrand’ vendor solutions.
Start of operation of this commercial data center is scheduled for September 1, 2017. The training center is designed both for clients from Moscow and for regional participants; it will be open by the end of 2017. Decorative finish and opening of auxiliary administrative premises are also held back-to-back.
General Director of ‘Legrand’ Group in Russia and CIS Alexis CONAN emphasized that the new technological center would encompass a whole spectrum of Legrand engineering solutions. Partners and customers will have an opportunity to acquaint themselves with Legrand's integrated solutions for data processing and storaging and for various branches of industry and banking; as well as obtain theoretical knowledge and practical skills while taking part in specialized conferences, seminars, lectures and other thematic industry events.
Ilya KHALA, ‘3data’ CEO, reported to the press creation of a mono-vendor commercial data center within walking distance has been negotiated over the past year with several large vendors capable of assuming responsibility for equipping the DC, but Legrand outperformed other market players and became the first partner of 3data. The head of 3data also noted that placing a mono-vendor data processing center, a training complex and administrative premises under the same roof is supposed to simplify the formalization of relationship between industry partners, customers and product and DC solutions suppliers.
Vitaly Ezopov, CEO of ‘Mastertel’, said that a metropolitan telecom operator, a long-time partner of the 3data DC network, would assume the provision of telecom solutions based on the involvement of its own fiber-optic network of communication lines – ‘Master-Connect’.
The information announced at the press conference aroused the keen interest of industry press representatives who almost attacked the speakers with various questions about the design of this new technological center and features of cooperation between Russian and foreign companies in the data center field.
